Full-Stack Developer | Hospital Preservice Supervisor | Tech Enthusiast | Language Lover
Hello! My name is Joshua and I am a healthcare professional turned software developer! I have a passion for using technology to make people’s lives easier. Currently, I work in hospital administration and utilize many systems including Epic and Microsoft office to help my staff succeed in hospital billing, authorizations and admissions. I love taking complex problems and using technology to make things smoother and more user-friendly to provide an experience that supports both my staff and our patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy learning new languages, both linguistic and coding, as I find it so rewarding to understand how things work. I also enjoy gardening which keeps me grounded after a long day of coding or workflow redesigns.
Once you get to know me, you will find that deep down, my main purpose in life is to help people. I believe that a great developers main focus should always be on empathy, strong, effective communication, and an abundance of curiosity.

I am currently employed at Saint Agnes Medical Center where I oversee hospital admissions, billing, authorizations, and coding for elective, emergency, and inpatient services. I manage a staff of highly-skilled insurance specialists responsible for insurance verification, prior authorizations, and financial clearance. Our main function and goal is to optimize reimbursement and reduce denials and in our day to day our goal is to ensure compliance with both medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and regulatory guidelines. I lead preservice staff, collaborate with providers, and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and the overall patient experience. With a certification in A3 Lean, I am always looking for ways to simplify processes to increase accuracy and reduce redundancy. If you need help with understanding how to reduce your hospital denials, I am confident we can work together to improve your revenue capture!
Improve EHR configurations for billing, RTE, and plan mappings to reduce errors and streamline patient access workflows.
Educate staff on coding best practices (ICD-10, CPT), coverage review, and authorization workflows to increase accuracy and reduce denials.
Apply A3 Lean principles to redesign front-end workflows, reduce redundancy, and optimize reimbursement.
Implement tools and strategies to minimize denials and appeal rejections effectively, improving overall claim success rates.
Facilitate alignment between patient access, providers, and billing teams to boost communication and resolve systemic issues.
Ensure workflows are aligned with payer-specific guidelines, CMS rules, and audit requirements to avoid costly penalties.
I’ve led and collaborated on a multitude of projects that span from healthcare process improvement to full-stack application development. My work focuses on creating tools and implementing policies that enhance efficiency, empower users, and tackle real-world issues.
